Hotel, boarding house, sanatorium and their refugee rooms
As part of the pavilion of the Second Tbilisi Architecture Biennale, which will take place from October 24 to 30, MetaLab Urban Laboratory will implement the project "Hotel, boarding house, sanatorium and their refugee rooms" by Dana Kosmina and Mykola Ridny.
One of the two parts of their project will be an open-air installation in the backyard of the National Art Museum of Ukraine. It will recreate a room for refugees who have been forced to live in temporary accommodation. The second part of the work can be seen at a pop-up exhibition on the territory of the Kyivproject Institute in the abandoned pump room "Dzherelo".
The project by Dana Kosmina and Mykola Ridny explores hybrid life in space as a symbol of changes in the post-socialist space and the echoes of wars in Abkhazia and Ukraine.
13:00—16:00, October 24 - opening of the installation in the courtyard of the National Art Museum of Ukraine (entrance from the Museum Lane, behind the museum). The installation can be viewed daily from 24 to 30 October from 10:00 to 17:00.
17:00—20:00 - presentation in the building of the pump room "Dzherelo", in the yard of the institute "Kyivproject", Bohdan Khmelnytsky Str, 16-22.
The project is implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and Creative Europe in the program of the Tbilisi Architectural Biennale.
