… A lot of things in life start occasionally. One picture got to my liking at one of the exhibitions. I got more and more interested in being among artists, in their studios. On having about ten purchased oil-painted works I got to understand that the world of painting attracts me for real. Over 20 years passed from that moment!.. Communication with artists became a permanent demand for me. A goal was defined: to present Odessa painting school of 60th-90th in the collection… to my mind this school can be associated with the names of Egorov, Basanets, Voloshynov, Stovbur, Rakhmanin, Stepanov…

There are Odessa painters of elder times in my collection as well — Kuznetsov, Brodskiy, Synytskiy and others… If you ask me, what do I dream about, I'll tell you that I dream about creating a Modern Art Museum in Odessa. I seek to have a painter represented with his best works, masterpieces in my collection. I believe that Odessa painters are of the same value as artists of global renown…
