There are things which are important to experience throughout our lives. Expecting St. Nicolas' grace. Making gifts. Meeting the closest and the dearest. Celebrating Christmas and the New Year. We need these to remain ourselves and at the same time realize how we change.

This year's project "Living Art" will transfer us to the middle of the 20th century. We'll apparate in the house of an ancient Kyiv aristocratic family. The name of Prakhovs is well-known in academic and artistic milieus. But for now all professional activities should be postponed in order to give us a chance to prepare for the holiday. One of the family's traditions is to make Christmas toys and decorate the house together. One may take grandma's pastels and paint cards for all. Meanwhile mysteriously delicious smells spread all over the place. Mom is rustling the paper in her room. It is getting dark. Soon the whole family and friends will get together in the living room and the feast will begin! All of that is observed and absorbed by little Sasha...

...Who in several decades will become Oleksandra Prakhova (1950-2011), the famous painter, graphic artist, calligrapher, book illustrator, art curator, and a worthy descendant of the eminent dynasty of scholars and artists. Her delicate manner was developed under the influence of Vasyl Kasian, Vasyl Chebanyk, Tetiana and Olena Yablonska, Serhii Paradzhanov. However, her Family was her primary teacher and inspiration. Thanks to this one may notice not only the perfect skill, but also sincerity and warmth in the works of Sasha Prakhova.

Winter. Holiday. We are waiting for the opening day when our visitors will get a chance not only to observe the exhibition, but also to participate in workshops, to sing, and enjoy the feast. And, like many years ago, this festive event will be carefully observed by Sasha...
