Retrospective show Chloe Couture
Curator: Geraldine-Julie Sommier and Ulyana Boyko
Khristina Khranovska with the magazine L'Officiel Ukraine presents the CHLOE COUTURE project, designed to attract the attention of society to fashion as the visual art. CHLOE COUTURE is a retrospective of the world famous Fashion House, founded in 1952 by the talented designer Gaby Aghion. It is impossible to imagine a modern museum without interdisciplinary projects related to fashion, architecture and design. Working on the vision of developing the museum as an institution and taking part in developing the concept of a contemporary art museum, NAMU is currently making its first steps towards expanding its interests. Experimental for the museum event - a guest project of a world-famous fashion house - is a harbinger of future projects. It is designed to create a situation where in the role of museum exhibits it is possible to imagine things not characteristic of our collection, to feel the material with which the museum in general plans to work, developing research museum projects. The special retrospective collection of Chloé Archive, formed in 2011, reproduces the thematic lines of the brand and key moments in the history of the fashion house. Thirty images are presented in two halls: recognizable, iconic models are exhibited next to the less well-known, but equally important for the fashion history of the outfit, first shown to the general public. Among them are romantic chiffon Chloé dresses that inspire memories of the 1970s fashion and surrealistic works of the 1980s and practical clothes of the 2000s. And Carl Lagerfeld's dresses of different years, and Stella McCartney's jacket from her latest collection for Chloe, and a trousers suit from last year's collection of design by Natasha Ramsay-Levy. CHLOE COUTURE demonstrates the contribution of the Fashion House to the history of world fashion. The project will feature lectures on the history of the Chloe House and work with its archives. The initiator of the project is Kristina Khranovskaya, a representative of Chloe in Ukraine |
