“The project“ I am sick, because… ”has united contemporary artists, representatives of the Lion's Club of the Museum, Ukrainian athletes who will defend Ukraine's honor at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Merge is a feature of the modern museum. It is interesting that in the collection of the National Art Museum of Ukraine we already have a number of works related to the theme of sports: 1920s - "Fighters" by M. Epstein, 1930s - "Football in the Red Army" by G. Cherkashin, " Gymnast "and" Gymnast Girl "O. Pavlenko," Shooter Circle "S. Yoffe," Football "I. Klimenko, 1980-1990s -" Honored Master of Sports, Olympic Champion Vira Misevich "V. Prystalenko," Kiev football »V. Ryzhikh. So the tradition goes on. We hope that with the support of the team of contemporary artists, the National Olympic team of Ukraine will choose even more medals in Tokyo than usual, ”the museum's director general Yulia Litvinets said at the presentation of the project.
From March, T-shirts with prints of these images will be available in stores and on the Intertop website and at the NAMU store.
Towards the opening of the 21st Tokyo Olympic Games, we will wear T-shirts with subjects on boxing, swimming, rowing, fencing, etc. to support Ukrainian Olympic athletes. Part of the proceeds from the sale of T-shirts and other merch will be transferred to support the Olympic team of Ukraine.
