From March 20 to May 2, 2021, the National Art Museum of Ukraine will host an exhibition project of the famous Ukrainian artist Lada Nakonechna "Disciplined Vision". The three exhibition halls will present works (graphics, installation, objects, videos) created during 2015-2021. This is the first large personal project of the artist, prepared especially for NAMU. Renewing the exhibition of art of the twentieth century, NAMU initiates a number of research projects of scientists and artists aimed at studying controversial or still little-known pages of the history of Ukrainian art. Lada Nakonechna in her project "Disciplined Vision" focuses on the 1930s and, based on archival materials and works from the NAMU collection, she explores the ability of art to form a common vision based on individual stories. In her study, she starts from the assumption that socialist realism established a kind of vision regime, and focuses on landscapes - a genre that is often positioned as ideologically unbiased. The project is dedicated to identifying the role of landscape in the "construction" of a certain type of vision. The opening of the project for the public will take place online on March 19 (Friday) at 18:00 on the official YouTube chanel of the National Art Museum of Ukraine via link: |
