14.09.2007 – 07.10.2007 Zoia Frolova. The Life of “Silent Life”
Painting
Curator: Iryna Voziianova

...There are moods that certain things invoke in us so that we could experience, again and again, that inconceivably penetrating and obscure feeling, which you first experience in childhood.  A candle lit in a garden at night, a silent talk beside a lamp, sounds of countless insects. A whirling of night butterflies around the lamp. A whirling of couples at a dance floor. A  whirling of a crowd at Piazza del Popollo, illuminated with a light of a sun-lamp.  A feeling of loneliness, but not that tragic loneliness of a fall, but a light, sweetly penetrating, not of your own, but of each of us, those who live under the night skies...

07.09.2007 – 07.10.2007 Oleksandr Sukholit
Painting, graphics
Curator: Pavlo Gudimov

“In Oleksandr Sukholit’s garden sculptures deteriorate. They are all in cracks, they are eroded by rains. Nice. But Sukholit has forgotten about them.  He is fascinated by something else. He paints the earth and the sky.  One can turn the painting upside down, and the sky will become the earth and vice versa.  They appear to be undistinguishable. One in the other.  Sukholit himself is a combination of the earth and the skies. His sculpture is the combination of the skies and the earth, and his drawing is illusive. They exasperate as sand and light as the skies…”
