Anatolii Sumar is a mysterious and almost unknown artist of the Khrushchov era. No museum has his paintings. His art was exposed to people for the first time in 1990, after 27 years of silence and obliteration

24.05.2014 – 22.06.2014 PLACES. Kazimir Malevich Artistic Award Laureates

Presentation of the project Places in the National Art Museum was planned in 2013 on the 21st of February, 2014. This was planned to be the Ukrainian part of a major initiative to support and promote Ukrainian visual arts. The museum was preparing to present to the public the results of work of the artists Alevtina Kakhidze, Stas Voliazlovskyi, and Zhanna Kadyrova, the laureates of Kazimir Malevich artistic award. But from January 19 the museum was closed because of the siege by military forces and the battle on Hrushevskogo street. The project was delayed.
