16.02.2007 – 18.03.2007 THREE GENERATIONS

“Family exhibition” affords observers with an opportunity to see works of the legendary Oleksandr Syrotenko (1897–1975), whose 110th birthday is celebrated this year, his daughter Nadiya Syrotenko (1920–2005), her husband, known artist Oleksandr Vovk (1922–2004) and their son Serhiy Vovk (born in 1958). The exposition includes painints showing different periods of artists’ creativity, genre and type variety of their heritage and nowadays. Over 150 works from the National Art Museum of Ukraine’s and family collections are presented in the exhibition.

Project of Lviv Art Gallery presented works of world-wide famous “Ukrainian Parisians” Mykola VAKER (1897, Kyiv — 1987, Paris), Oleksa HRYSHCHENKO (1883, Krolevets in Sumy Region — 1977, Vence, nearby Nice), Borys PASTUKHOV (1894, Kyiv — 1974, London) and Vasyl KHMELIUK (1903, Berezivka in Vinnitsa Region — 1986, Paris) from the the Tsvenhrish family collection.

22.12.2006 – 30.03.2007 THE OBJECT AND THE IMAGE OF THE EPOCH

The aim of the exhibit is to show the epoch from the late 19th to the early 20th century in its two aspects: ordinary and aesthetic.  The exhibit shows more than 200 works (portraits, landscapes, genre paintings by masters of Ukrainian art, as well as pieces of furniture, clothing, dishes etc.) It consists of three parts: the landowner’s mansion, the peasant’s house and the apartment in the city, organized according to certain stages of the development of Ukrainian culture.
