Volodymyr Tsyupko was born in 1936 in the village of Osypivka, Kirovohrad oblast'. He studied at the Odessa M. Grekov State Art College and at the Leningrad Vera Mukhina Higher Artistic and Industrial College. His painting teachers were P.Buchkin, G.Savinov, K.Iogansen. He works in the field of monumental and decorative art and easel painting…

The artist himself defines the style of his works as “incrustation” and “calligraphy.”
The precision of such a definition does not only lie in outer resemblance. Calligraphy as the art of gesture does not exclude innovation, but it requires an appropriate classical school in the past. The incrustation requires careful preliminary calculation and strict adherence to the plan.  Thus, there emerges a unity of the spontaneous and the profound, the monolithic and the dynamic, the material and the non-figurative…
