16.04.2019 Lecture: Transformation of painting in contemporary art
In the second half of the twentieth century painting has undergone many trials, but survived, albeit very differently. And thanks to these changes, it remained quite relevant.
The paintings rose after the conceptualists declared his death, accepted the challenge of a new visual environment in the consumer society and triumphantly regained its positions in the postmodern period.
Post-war abstraction, pop art and hyper-realism, New wave - all of these phenomena are reflected in the Ukrainian art of the 1980s and 1990s. The head of the department of art of the XX-XXI centuries Oksana Barshynova will tell about the transformation of painting, in particular Ukrainian, in the second half of the twentieth century.
