Lecture-dialogue: "Sergei Grigoriev and his students. The fate of realism in Ukrainian art.
Those who want to learn more about the work of the famous Ukrainian artist Serhiy Hryhoriev and the fate of his students is invited to a lecture-dialogue, which will take place on Saturday, February 20 at 12:00 on the Zoom online platform. The lecture will be given by Yulia Zakharchuk, a senior researcher at the Department of Contemporary Art at NAMU, and Ivan Grigoriev, an artist and grandson of Serhiy Grigoriev. The first part of the lecture will be devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the work of Serhiy Hryhoriev. Special attention will be paid to the methodology of his teaching, which he largely inherited from his teacher Fedir Krychevsky. In addition, Ivan Grigoriev will share his vision of the problems of realism and social realism. In the second part, the lecturers will review the work of the most famous students of Sergei Grigoriev. The artist taught for almost 30 years, was the head of the genre painting workshop of the Kyiv Art Institute, and also headed the creative workshops at the Academy of Arts of the USSR. We will talk about Viktor Zaretsky, Alla Gorskaya, Mykola Storozhenko, Oleksa Zakharchuk, Anatoliy Lymarev, Halyna and Igor Hryhoriev, Yakym Levych, Zoya Lerman, Oleksiy Oryabynsky, Mykhailo Weinstein, Oleg Zhyvotkov.
