KULTUR-LIGE: ARTISTIC AVANTGARDE

Kultur-Lige, one of the largest educational Jewish organizations, was
created at the beginning of 1918 in Kyiv. The aim of its activities was
to develop culture in Yiddish. In the fall of 1918 its educational,
publishing, library, music, theatre, literature and art sections were
launched. In Kyiv, Kultur-Lige opened a People’s University, a gymnasia,
a gymnasia for teachers and “Kultur-Liga” publishing house. A drawing
section and a museum were attached to its Art Section.

CHILDREN in the framework of the “Living Art” all-national project

On the 20th of December at 13.30 Ukrainian National Information News
Agency (UNIAN) held a press-conference dedicated to the completion of
the first stage of the all-national project “Living Art” and its
culmination – the exhibition entitled “Children”. Its opening took place
at the National Art Museum of Ukraine on the 12th of December
(Saturday) at 14:00. Honorable guests were the most active participants
of the “Living Art” project – preschool children, school and university
students.

„…the artist was inspired by the investigations of contemporary
psychologists, philosophers and bioenergeticians in the field of the
research of the unique almond-shaped organ, which is situated in our
brain – the amygdala. This organ appears to be connected with the
emotional life and memory. It makes us sensitive to the memories and
images of the past and to the flow of time…”

PABLO PICASSO. Suite Vollard

From 1930 to 1936 Picasso worked at a big series of engravings, applying
different graphic techniques. That was a long project, which in a year
appeared in the hands of Vollard. This collection – 97 engravings and 3
portraits of the dealer – was later entitled “Suite Vollard “.
